BangkokType is a hobby project that celebrates the charm and character of typography found all over Bangkok. From hand-painted shop signs and vintage street signs to modern storefronts mixing Thai, English, Chinese, and more — this city is full of unique letterforms and design gems hiding in plain sight.
What started as random photos on my walks around town turned into a growing collection of signs that tell stories — of neighborhoods, old family-run shops, forgotten corners, and Bangkok’s ever-changing visual identity.
This site is a way to document and share that mix — the quirky, beautiful, and sometimes chaotic blend of type and design that makes Bangkok so visually rich. It’s for anyone who loves street culture, design, or just seeing the city in a different light.
Cheers and hope you enjoy it!
About me

Hi, I’m Martin — a product designer with over 15 years of experience and a passion for art, photography, and visual storytelling. When I’m not working on design projects, you’ll find me wandering the streets, capturing the unique mix of typography that gives this city its soul.
BangkokType is my personal project to document and share the signs, typography, scripts, and everyday design details that often go unnoticed.
